The great traction and road gripping ability in colder dry and wet weather is the result of the silica-based Flex-Ice winter weather compound and the full depth 3D Cross Z-sipes. The compound provides excellent traction, while the full depth sipes maintain their road gripping ability as the tire wears out. Snow platform indicators located on the tread show when the tread is 50% worn out and about to lose its superb winter weather traction. The micro-pumps and the circumferential and lateral grooves prevent dangerous hydroplaning situations by eliminating water from beneath the tire footprint, further increasing the winter weather driving safety.
